Hiroto Kurita

I am a machine learning engineer at Apple. I'm interested in efficient language model training, inference, and deployment and their underlying principles.

I was previously a founding ML engineer at Kotoba Technologies, where I worked on multilingual TTS models at scale and backend systems for a simultaneous translation app. I was also a JSPS Research Fellow (DC1).

I interned at Apple in Cupertino (summer 2024) and Tokyo (summer 2025), working on NLP and image generation. During my undergraduate and master's studies, I contributed to early efforts on training Japanese large language models and on deep state space models.
